| Alrighty fellow players, the stage is set: you have Mugic in your Apprentice Decks, your army has Muges (the back slot is a great place for them ) and your deck has Mugic Cards in it! You open your freshly updated Chaotic Pad and…oh no! Confusion! New buttons, new cards and new icons! Never fear though, I am here to help.
Mugic Counters:
The first thing you may notice is that some of your Creatures have little seven-sided icons (we call them heptagons) resting on their images. These are your Mugic Counters (for more information about Mugic Counters and how they work, check out Chaotic|Cyklik’s post all about Mugic: Cyklik’s Post ) and when I talk about a “cost” for a Mugic Card, those counters are it.
Action Icons:
Next on our list are these little icons in the lower left part of your Chaotic Pad:
We call these “Action Indicators,” and hovering over each will display a help card in the Large Card Viewer. If the icon is lit up, it means that you are allowed to make that action, and the help card will look like this:
If the icon is gray, it means that you are not allowed to make that action and the help card will look like this:
What I imagine you’re wondering now is: what are these actions?
Move: This icon is lit up when you are allowed to move a Creature. Click your Creature; click the space you want it to move to, and then press the Play Button. If you wish to cancel your move, click the Move icon itself. Special note: for the time being the first creature you selected will still be highlighted, but you will be able to select it or any other creature you wish to move. Will you attack or move into an empty space?
Attack: This icon is lit up when you are allowed to make an attack. Click the Attack card you wish to play, then press the Play Button. If you decide that you don’t want to make your chosen attack, click the Attack icon to cancel it. Choose wisely!
Burst: This icon is lit up when you are allowed to add an item to the Burst (once again, check out Cyklik’s great post on how the Burst works: Cyklik’s Post. This means that you are allowed to play one of your Mugic Cards, use one of your Creatures’ activated abilities, or use one of your Battlegears’ activated abilities (time to sacrifice those Pyroblasters ).
To play a Mugic Card or use an activated ability, you first have to click the card you want to use. So, if I want to play my Canon of Casualty, I click Canon of Casualty; if I want to user Maxxor’s healing ability, I click Maxxor. Once you have selected the card you wish to play, you choose which card you want to pay the cost for it. This does not have to be an engaged Creature, though in the case of activated abilities the cost must be paid by the Creature with the ability. You simply click the card you wish to pay the cost with and as long as you’re allowed to use that card, you can move onto the next step. Now it’s the fun part! Select the target you wish your Mugic or ability to affect and click it. Phew! Once you have completed each of these steps, you must click the Play Button to follow through. If at any point before you press the Play Button you wish to cancel, simply click the Burst icon.
If a card has an activated ability which you can use on it, this image will appear on it:
If you attempt to take any action and select an illegal target, you will see this image over your card:
Preview: This icon is lit up when you have played a card or used an ability which allows you to preview cards. To use your Preview, click the cards in order of your preference. The first card you click will appear on the top of your deck and the next cards will appear from top to bottom according to the order of your clicks. Where they appear in the deck depends on what the card itself says.
Discard: This icon is lit up when you are required to discard one of your Mugic Cards. Just click the card you are willing to part with and then press the Play Button. Warning: if you try to fool us by letting your turn time out, we will randomly select a Mugic Card to discard.
Pass: This icon is lit up whenever you have the option to pass. This icon goes hand in hand with the Burst icon; if you don’t want to play a Mugic Card or use an activated ability, press the Pass Button:
Your Turn: This icon is lit up whenever it’s your turn to do something. This means you should be taking an action now, check which icons are lit up to see which one!
Burst Indicator:
The last big change is this series of dashes:
Each of these little dashes represents an item on the Burst, and if you want to see what that item is, you simply hover your mouse over the dash; the Burst icon will glow to indicate that you are viewing it. The most recent item added to the Burst will always be the leftmost icon, and each time you add a new item to the Burst, it will fill this slot and the previous item on the Burst will move to the right. This means that when the Burst resolves, the first item to take effect will always be the leftmost icon on the Burst.
Different colors of the icons mean different things—a green icon represents something which you have added to the Burst, while a red icon indicates something which your opponent has added to the Burst. You may notice that your Mugic Cards are sometimes very faint--this means that they are not currently useable, they will appear in full color when they are . If you wish to use an ability which targets an item on the Burst, such as Refrain of Denial, you will hover over the Burst icon for the Mugic, ability, or Attack you wish countered when you come to the targeting step, then click the card which you wish to counter. *UPDATED*
For a more in depth explanation of how the Burst works, go check out Chaotic|Cyklik’s post about Mugic here: Cyklik’s Post
Ready:
Okay gals and guys, this should give you a pretty good idea of how the newest version of the Chaotic Pad will work. The most important thing you can do is read the text in the pad itself; it will give you a lot of pointers, and paying attention to it will help you’re your gameplay much smoother. Have fun playing Chaotic and working things out—I suggest keeping this post and Cyklik’s handy your first time playing with Mugic

| Hi, i was wondering how i actually get to use the cards in-game on the pad.
I have my 3 mugic cards in my army but cant find them in-game and its really annoying that i cant use them, especially in dire situations.
Thanks |
